Steinbachtal Primary Storage Point
The Steinbachtal PSP (Primary Storage Point) of the US Army in Würzburg played a significant role during the Cold War. It served as a storage facility for conventional ammunition and was expanded in the 1980s to include the Central Missile Storage Area of the 8-43 ADA (Patriot, Giebelstadt).
The facility consisted of several storage buildings and bunkers used for the safe storage of ammunition.
After the withdrawal of the US Army between 2006 and 2014, the bunkers on the site were leased to farmers, wood recyclers, and forestry companies. The area is still fenced and always closed.
