Schwanberg Relay- and Communications Station
The Schwanberg Relay and Communications Station was used as a military communications facility during the Cold War. It served primarily as a radio relay station and was an important part of the U.S. Army's communications network in Europe.
The facility was operated by the 102nd Signal Battalion (USAREUR) and the 11th AD Signal Battalion (LFV). These units were responsible for ensuring communications between various military locations and units. The station enabled messages and information to be transmitted quickly and reliably over long distances, which was critical for military coordination and operations.
