The Giebelstadt Army Airfield was a former military airfield located in the southwest of Giebelstadt in Bavaria, Germany, about 400 kilometers southwest of Berlin. It was built in 1935 as an air base by the Luftwaffe and served as a reserve airfield during the Second World War.


After the return, the airfield was acquired by a holding company consisting of the Giebelstadt market and the Knauf company.


The use of the airfield is also possible for “Zivile shared use of Flugplatz Giebelstadt GmbH”, a merger of the companies Knauf, s.Oliver and Südzucker AG.


The airfield has the ICAO code EDQG and is subordinate to the Southern Bavaria Air Authority!
